So welcome to life on the hill. This is a place where I give you a peek into the inner-workings of life at Victrola Coffee and my life as Barista Trainer. The ‘m’ in mpfaff is Mark.

So what to expect on this blog. Well I’ll start with a disclaimer: I definitely have a tendency to wax poetic about all things coffee way too often and probably tell you more than you ever wanted to know about coffee stuff: like espresso, new techniques, and coffee competitions.

A little background on me: I worked in coffee for about 8 years before realizing my dream of working on the hill. Victrola’s Streamline blend had always been my favorite espresso and the quality they continued to produce in their cafe was unmatched in my book. So in December 2007 I got the chance to join the team, stepped down at Jasper’s Coffee in Federal Way, and well the rest has been incredible. Victrola really is a coffee community, we all take our job very seriously, there’s a lot of pride in our work and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So with that, read on and enjoy!
